How to finish shocks?

Postby james1 » Sat Mar 16, 2013 6:18 pm

Hey,
I bought the edge rear shocks for my piranha but before ive even mounted them ive noticed there is surface rust on the shocks (the machined steel parts).
What do you guys usually do with this?
Thanks

Zinc plate the shock sleeve & top cap when you send your pivot pins & any other machined parts out for zinc plating.
What ever you do, DO NOT push the shock shaft all the way iinto the shock body as it will let out the gas.

Hey James,

It's to get to know a Zinc plate Company, They are handy for protecting various parts... You usually find Zinc Companies right near Powder Coaters, some do both in-house.... Try a Google Search

You cannot powdercoat the sleeves as it will add too much material & the adjuster collars will then not screw on.
