Taipan Drive Belt

Postby Hano_03 » Sun Jun 05, 2011 2:55 pm

Hi all, new to forum as I recently purchased a taipan which the original owner said was built for him by The Edge.
I have completely stripped and reassembled to sort out some issues and one I am stuck on is the drive belt.
It appears to have a replacement belt which is too thin to what I have researched on the net.
The buggy has a 16HP vanguard, with comet 40 TQ and a driven pulley that is 216mm, there is approximately 220mm centre to centre between the comet and driven pulley.
I think that the original belt for this was symetrical and had a part # 203788, can any one confirn this, or know which belt suits best, where to buy, or does The Edge stock these?

Belt required is a Comet 203788A
Have a look on US Ebay or a search on the Internet.
Comet went bust a couple of years back & its difficult to get these parts now.
