30 Thousand Acres

Postby Ray » Wed Jul 23, 2008 5:39 pm

I have been asked buy a land owner, lotsa Land !
Weather the supelites would like to go and have a weekend play on 30 thousand acres
The finer details are still to be sorted out and dont want to interfear with any of the Northam or Harvey events

Firstly Is Kulin too far away
Where is it I hear you say, its just under 3 hrs from perth so a stay over will be advised
Yea a 2 day event, if they survive the first day

Would you want to make it a Yearly or more often sorta event and turn it into something along the lines of a long coarse type race ?
Not too long tho as I no my barra runs outa fuel way fast! Shuddup Jet we dont want to know how much fuel you hold !
But you can make me one of those tanks. ta

I think it is something that we may want to look into regarding the buggys that are coming through now so we can get em out and realy see how fast they will go

I also have another property closer to Perth but need to work on the owner a bit more, as they are hesitant at the moment
And also a dissused quad trak that has been found will be looking into who runs or owns that too

Let me know what you guys think and if you want it to be taken any further

Ray,is it for wheel to wheel racing? or Social/Camping thing?Fees?
Either way I'm fuuly setup for long haul and Camping stuff.
Often as possible,if ya ask me.Weather permitting.Would be good to stretch the legs on the Drakart. They are meant to be good for 100mph-160kph.
I'm in! If allowed?

Ray, you're the man! Count me in. How about a 24 hour event?

Re: the bloke closer to Perth - offer more money!

As for fuel tank, just let me know when you want to lengthen your Cuda, we've still got all the bent tubes ready to go.

Ha I'm in, sure my legacy isn't quite finished, but it will be soon.

Whats the go with insurance and all that paperwork for that situation, cause I know quite a few properties slightly closer to Perth?

INSURANCE

Geeze you guys now you made me find out
I have spoken to Gwen from NDRA and been given the whats hows and whatevers
I have had clarified the fees for insurance, license and membership of National Dirt Racers Association (NDRA) for buggies.
The annual fee will be $136 all up. The year runs from 1st July, 2008 until 30th June 2009.

NDRA insurance will be compulsory for the upcoming summer series at northam for all competing drivers so I figure use the same

If you want ring Gwen 93506138 / 0401504739 9am till 5pm
You can read about it here and also fill out the required forms to become a member

http://www.ndra.com.au./

Insurance for an event like Kulin will be covered by them altho we are not a registered club as long as I give details of who when and whatever else is needed

Also found out about public liabilty for the venue which is another thing thats needed and where to get it

Buggy insurance for while in transit and storage have got information on who and where to get that also.

So I guess that I will carry on finding out more about making a date for Kulin then ?

Talked to the guy from Kulin again today and he sounded keen as to give it a go
Will go out there with in the next couple of weeks with the barra and see exactly whats there and where we will be allowed to go
I reckon give him a rapp in a Barra and all will be sweeeet !!
If all looks good will then arrange a date with him to make it happen
If your not insured as a driver you need to look at geting it sorted if you are thinking of coming
Besides there is only 2 months of the winter series left till you need to have it sorted any how
I think at least 5 or more buggys will be needed to make it worth the trip

Baz whens the new buggy getting here?
Finngers?
Jet?
Badboy?
Trav?
How long, who else ?

Don't tell anyone Ray! But I'm actually looking at 2 of them.
The Drak is already paid for and awaiting shipping, but I have recently seen a Sled Pilot with an older 550 Arctic Cat motor in it. It's NOT one of the 100+hp Rotax's that I'm after, but would be 75hp - 95hp? Depending on if it's a 3or 5 port Cyl.That's at least 50% more power than my current CR500 conv Pilot. So it would be really competitive at Northam.
If things go right tomorrow morn, then the AC550 Pilot will leave California next week, and take a couple of months Cruising over.
If the deal sours, then the Drak leaves next week.
I can't afford to ship both of em at the same time, plus need to sell off one of my other Pilots, most prob my first stock 89 Pilot. I still have my current LT500 Pilot to race tho anyway.

Yeah, he's losing his nerve.

Jet, the trick is to focus on the space between the trees, don't even acknowledge the trees, as soon as you do, you're gonna hit it!

(too many bad experiences with trees on dirt bikes)
