For Sale - Race Spec Piranha

Started off as a stock standard Edge Piranha and has been extensively modified to be a competitive and reliable buggy. View http://www.wasuperlites.com/forum_2/show...php?tid=51 for more details.

This buggy is very quick and can easily compete with Busa powered Cudas (a fair bit lighter and a heap of torque makes it an easy to drive buggy).

Motor
• Dec 05’ Suzuki SV 1000 motor, purchased at only ~12mths old and installed ~2009;
• New 13T front sprocket, 55T rear sprocket and DID gold chain, only seen 1 event (also include brand new spare 14t front sprocket and original 17t front sprocket);
• Triple core ASI Honda Civic radiator & 12” thermo fan, ~12mths old;
• Custom made stainless steel exhaust;
• Stainless steel radiator piping;
• K&N air filter;
• Includes spare muffler;
• ~4 month old Deka battery (~50% bigger than standard);
• Edge built fuel tank using original bike fuel pump;

Rear End
• 170mm wider than standard;
• Upgraded heavy duty lower a-arms (includes jig);
• Tie rod ends installed to lower a-arms similar to pircv setup, allows for adjustable camber and toe;
• 21 ¼ inch VW bus axles (5 inches longer than standard), this reduces the CV angle for the same amount of suspension travel;
• BMW stub axles mounted in the Edge double a-arm uprights modified with solid bearing housing;
• Outboard brakes - 205mm slotted 6mm thick rotors with large Edge twin piston calipers;
• Centre cartridge upgraded with solid bearing housing, with the female shaft running the entire length of the male shaft and a heat treated male shaft. Also modified with a turn buckle setup chain tensioner which allows for the chain to be easily tensioned;
• Running 12” Fox Air shocks;
• 12” Edge Barracuda rims, powder coated with almost new (seen one event) tyres running inner tubes (less chance of tyre coming off rim).

Front End
• Raked front end;
• Modified heavy duty a-arms, track increased by ~300mm and increased suspension travel (includes jig);
• Outboard mounted 10” Fox Air shocks;
• Upgraded brakes - 200mm slotted 6mm thick rotors with large Edge twin piston calipers;
• Edge quick turn rack modified for extra lock;
• Brass bushes used throughout suspension;
• Upgraded pivot pins;
• Heavy duty aluminium steering wheel and quick release (bent first steering wheel);
• Edge aluminium front hubs;
• 12” Edge Barracuda rims, powder coated with almost new (seen one event) tyres;

Other
• Aluminium checker plate floor;
• Aluminium panels & bonnet mounted with stainless bolts and rivnuts;
• 5 point harness;
• Heavy duty padded fiberglass seat;
• Battery isolator switch with key;
• Spotlights, brake light and amber light;
• Edge supplied roll bars;
• Additional roll bar bracing;
• Automotive roll bar padding;
• 2 solid Go-Pro mounts;
• Hand hydraulic clutch;
• Separate front & rear brake pedals;
• 1kg fire extinguisher mounted to roll bar;

Negatives
Small oil leak from clutch slave cylinder pushrod and one of the rear rims is dented.

Trailer
• Custom built to suit above buggy;
• Internal dimensions 2.9m long x 2m wide;
• Built using all galvanized steel and all welds painted in cold gal;
• 2mm galvanized sheet floor;
• Heavy duty loading ramps;
• Hand winch;
• Built in large tool box;
• 2 x jerry can holders;
• Spare wheel;
• LED brake lights;
• Approx 3 years old with all new components used;
• Very nice to tow (light, stable and same width as car).

$9,800 for buggy and $1,700 for trailer or $11k for the lot.

Parts alone was a lot more than that.

It is a stock fuel tank from Edge modified by Edge to fit the stock SV 1000 fuel pump. I think it holds ~15ltrs.

Price drop $9,250 for the buggy or $10,500 for the buggy and the trailer
