Piranha Steering

Postby Wayne1 » Mon Apr 15, 2013 2:16 am

Hello All,
Disaster has struck - I have lost my Piranha steering rack, tie rods and ball joint ends.........it's a long and sickening story!
The tie rods I can make, the ball joints I can source but the steering rack is more of a problem. I cannot find a suitable rack with a central pinion.
Has anyone any ideas what I could use?

Thanks
Wayne.

Thanks All,
I could get an edge rack but it is mighty costly by the time I've bought it, paid exchange rate, paid taxes and paid delivery to the uk, also knowing my luck most of you good folk with these parts are in Aus.
I was wondering if something else would work. A shortened escort rack sounds interesting as I can pick one up here at little money, but not sure how to shorten it. Is it a difficult job?

Ah. Didn't realise you were from the UK. The edge rack is a very high quality item and is worth every cent.

Easy job to shorten the rack. Detailed explanations in the piranha plans.

Many thanks all - I will have a crack at the escort rack option before digging deep into my pockets.
