Got piranha plans, need materials info

Postby caliranha » Sun Oct 22, 2006 2:46 pm

Hello everyone,
I just got the piranha 2 plans but I'm a little confused. I am defineately not a very expeienced fabricator and the plans are completely metric so I was wondering if USA customers are converting everything to Inch? what material thicknesses are we supposed to use. Any help on materials for USA built Piranha would be appreciated.

The plans are in metric so build the buggy in metric... just go to the local hardware store and buy a metric tape measure..

As to steel size.. remember 1" = 25.4mm exactly... so just convert to nearest size

3mm = 1/8"
5 or 6mm = 1/4"
8mm = 1/3"
25mm = 1"
40mm = 1 1/2"
50mm = 2"

Don't start anything you can not finish, or at least weld, screw or duct tape up !!
