Suzuki Denso ECU password protection

Need a spark. All those tedious electrics, lights, tacho, wiring harness, etc

Suzuki Denso ECU password protection

Postby Camel » Wed Nov 05, 2008 10:58 am

Anyone know how to get around password protection on Suzuki/Denso ECUs?

I want to flash my K8, get rid of the rich AF mix caused by the Busa's ECU maps when it reckons your going fast enough for RAM air to have an influence on the mix.

Struth, I know the 02-07s use a 32bit jobbie, I know they upgraded the 08 substantially (must have, it's got twice as many wires running in and out of it). I'll go and check my manual on the other computer.

Trygen,

Spot on cobber!. It's a 7052, but not a Hitachi.

Did a bit of hunting, found that Petrik over at ECU Hacking has pulled apart a K6 ECU (2006 Busa).

The 02-07 Busas use a 32 bit Denso SH7052-based ECU with AUD. Getting at the AUD is a bastard but I found the dimensions.

Also found that Renasis have a flash development toolkit, but I reckon there would have to be something else available on the net.

I need to get home and check my ECU.

Hayabusa ECU part numbers:

99-2000 uses part number 32920-24F21
2001 uses part number 32920-24FD0
02-07 uses part number 32920-24FK0

RonAyers.com lists genuine PNs as opposed to Bike Bandit, so was able to get the 2008 PNs for the ECU

32920-15H10
32920-15H20 (E33)

I know E33 is the US model so I'm assuming the other is the European/australian version. Which has the immobiliser.

32 can't mean 32 bit as the pre-02 models were only 16 bit. However, although the plugs are different, dimensionally they look similar in size.

So out with the Dremel I guess......

Maybe I'll wait until I get another K8?

Almost forgot, Renasis also have the programming tool (E8a) which according to the attached will program but not debug the SH7052.

http://www.renesas.com/media/products/t ... lkit_s.pdf

Oh, yeah, this info isn't just applicable to Hayabusas, many other EFI bikes use the same processor.

Mr Toe,

How/where are you getting a password prompt?

Have you seen this? it might work? should at least let you get the s19 via the AUD port:
http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic.php?t=3269

There are tools to dissassemble the s19 if the software there doesn't talk to it.

Busy emptying the Führerbünker, Jet's rocking up soon with an excavator, digging the footings, plinth box and missile silo today.

Thanks for your interest though (pushy bastard).

INDEED!

Apparently the implied correlation with big feet is a fallacy.....

Look again, that foot is in your mouth.....

Q: Does the 08 ECU use a MAF http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_airflow_sensor or a MAP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifold_absolute_pressure

If it uses MAP you should not have to worry about the adjustment for ram air you are wanting to make.

BTW the AUD port IS a BDM port, it can dump ALL the code and rewrite ALL the code (including the checksum and password) back again. Ya gotta love Motorolla...

MAP - I understand what you're saying, makes absolute sense, re: RAM air compensation.
